Six months ago, the Northwestern Improvement Company, which operates a number of mines in the state, was requested by State Mine Inspector James Bagley to install a sprinkler system to minimize the danger. This was done and another shaft, to be used in emergencies, was started. This has not been finished and the present condition of the mine will not allow it to be completed within the next three months.
